After word of our impending purchase traveled quickly through our neighborhood, many people asked for a tour to see the house that had long sat vacant for the past 14 years. We welcomed friends, neighbors and family to our new ‘project’ with enthusiasm. It was wonderful to hear stories from people who had attended events here many, many years ago and the words of encouragement and support for our endeavor were heartwarming and well-timed!
We were fortunate the house has ‘good bones’ and some updates had already taken place prior to our taking possession. Three new HVAC units, new hot water heater, new roof/guttering, waterproofing of walls and a french drain and sump pumps installed in the basement. (All improvements I brought up to my hubs on numerous occasions while trying to sell him on buying our dream house!)
There are many updates to be made and paint squares and light fixtures are dancing through my head – Let the fun begin!
